WHERE IN THE WORLD IS MOVE GUIDES: HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS EDITION

With a team comprised of over 20 nationalities, the holiday season is always a fun game of where in the world is MOVE Guides. This also reflects one of the core values of MOVE Guides. With a diverse team of expats and former expats, we embrace a global mind-set and are excited for any opportunity to travel, whether going home for holidays or jet-setting to explore a new country.

From Spain, New York, Nicaragua, Israel, Italy and France, we have lots of stories and memories to bring with us as we hit the ground running in 2015. Below, we highlight some of the best moments and top recommendations from our team's holiday travels.

Israel: Luke, EMEA Sales Director travelled to Israel with his wife over the holiday.

“My wife and I travelled to all the holy sites of Israel, including Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Galilee. I loved the history, culture and personal connection that I felt when visiting these ancient sites. The food was delicious, the local people were exceptionally friendly and I found there was a large expat community, especially in Tel Aviv.”

“I would highly recommend visiting the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv. It has local fresh foods, vegetables, spices and much more. We also floated in the Dead Sea, which was a great experience.”

Austria: During the holiday season, our Content Executive, Marie visited Carinthia in Austria to visit family.

“Carinthia is a mountainous region with fairy-tale like scenery. A beautiful spot, ideal for winter sports like hiking, skiing, sledding and relaxing by the fire with mulled wine and hearty foods.”

“I stayed in a very small town so it was a great break from the hustle and bustle of foggy London-town. I recommend it to anyone that loves the outdoors and a feel for traditional Austrian culture.”

Spain: One of our Engineers, Juan travelled to visit his family in Seville over the holiday season.

“Seville is a historic city filled with beautiful monuments and is home to the second biggest and one of the oldest cathedrals in the world. It is also very close to the shoreline which is an ideal location for spending the day in the sun while eating delicious fried fish and local drinks.”

“If you plan on visiting Seville, you must go to the city centre. It is the biggest historical centre in Europe. You must also spend time at Giralda, which was built as a minaret during the Moorish period and has the best view of the city. Another place to visit is the Alcázar of Seville where Game of Thrones filmed their new season!”

France: Rachael, our Head of People and Culture travelled to Honfleur in France over the holiday with her family.

"Honfleur is full of coffee shops, restaurants and art galleries. It is an ideal town to relax and enjoy crepes, champagne and fresh local mussels.”

“During my stay in France, my family and I also visited the Normandy beaches where D day took place 70 years ago last year. It was an extremely moving experience and I recommend it to anyone, not just history lovers like myself as the coastline is also stunning."
